La riforma del MMXXV

Citizenship through great-grandparents is no longer automatic. The new law requires a more direct link: parent or grandparent born in Italy.
If your parent or grandparent was born in Italy, you can still claim Italian citizenship by jure sanguinis — under specific conditions.
Descendants who no longer qualify by blood can now naturalize after just 2 years of residence in Italy, instead of the previous 10.
